I’m reviving ye olde Blogspot to host my weekly LongReads round-up, and also a weekly list of new words I extricate from my daily readings.
This Week: Talk on Naomi Wolf’s latest atrocity, Vagina. Reviews of Junot Diaz’s new collection of short fiction and Michael Chabon’s new novel Telegraph Avenue. A piece exploring the connection between the fatwa on Salman Rushdie and the current Innocence of the Muslims situation. An article on the serendipity of traveling and the strange spirituality of travel writing. A series of articles and responses to Indonesia’s new Anti-Corruption Curriculum. Some pieces on the new Marina Abramovic documentary.
Your teeth is the most important part of our face. It helps you digest food and if you have nice teeth, it will really look good when you smile. We brush and floss our teeth everyday but we also need to visit our dentist regularly so that we can have a strong and healthy teeth and gums. The dentist are trained to look at our teeth and gums and check if there is any problem. I love going to my dentist because my dentist is really good at what she is doing and she is so friendly as well. She really takes good care of me.
The Moment I Knew I Loved Her edition
We were freshmen in college and had met because I was friends with her roommate, but weren’t exactly friends on our own. The three of us had been hanging out when her roommate left, and we decided to go to dinner alone which was very new and different because we had never spent time alone together before.
We had dinner in Hicks (we argue about where exactly we were sitting but it was definitely in a booth, I think it was by the entrance but she says the windows). Michelle was eating an ice cream cone and I was gazing about, probably looking for this smoking hot senior we were enthusiastically co-stalking. And when I turned back to her, she had the entire ice cream inside her mouth because she was “trying to use her tongue to push the ice cream down into the tip” which like, okay that move works in several capacities.
And that’s when I knew I’d always love the girl deepthroating her ice cream cone.
